Scleroskeleton - That part of the skeleton which is developed in tendons, ligaments, and aponeuroses.
Seton - A few silk threads or horsehairs, or a strip of linen or the like, introduced beneath the skin by a knife or needle, so as to form an issue; also, the issue so formed.
Sexton - An under officer of a church, whose business is to take care of the church building and the vessels, vestments, etc., belonging to the church, to attend on the officiating clergyman, and to perform other duties pertaining to the church, such as to dig graves, ring the bell, etc.

Singleton - In certain games at cards, as whist, a single card of any suit held at the deal by a player; as, to lead a singleton.

Teuton - One of an ancient German tribe; later, a name applied to any member of the Germanic race in Europe; now used to designate a German, Dutchman, Scandinavian, etc., in distinction from a Celt or one of a Latin race.

Trispaston - A machine with three pulleys which act together for raising great weights.

Triton - Any one of many species of marine gastropods belonging to Triton and allied genera, having a stout spiral shell, often handsomely colored and ornamented with prominent varices. Some of the species are among the largest of all gastropods. Called also trumpet shell, and sea trumpet.

Hacqueton - Same as Acton.
Haketon - Same as Acton.
Homoioptoton - A figure in which the several parts of a sentence end with the same case, or inflection generally.
Hyperbaton - A figurative construction, changing or inverting the natural order of words or clauses; as, "echoed the hills" for "the hills echoed."
Incanton - To unite to, or form into, a canton or separate community.
IndoBriton - A person born in India, of mixed Indian and British blood; a half-caste.
Jetton - A metal counter used in playing cards.
Karyomiton - The reticular network of fine fibers, of which the nucleus of a cell is in part composed; -- in opposition to kytomiton, or the network in the body of the cell.
Kingston - Alt. of Kingstone
Kytomiton - See Karyomiton.
Laton - Alt. of Latoun
Monton - A heap of ore; a mass undergoing the process of amalgamation.
Megaphyton - An extinct genus of tree ferns with large, two-ranked leaves, or fronds.
Melocoton - Alt. of Melocotoon
Melton - A kind of stout woolen cloth with unfinished face and without raised nap. A commoner variety has a cotton warp.
Moton - A small plate covering the armpit in armor of the 14th century and later.
Mutton - A sheep.
Mutton - The flesh of a sheep.
Mutton - A loose woman; a prostitute.
Neuroskeleton - The deep-seated parts of the vertebrate skeleton which are relation with the nervous axis and locomation.
Panton - A horseshoe to correct a narrow, hoofbound heel.
Phyton - One of the parts which by their repetition make up a flowering plant, each being a single joint of a stem with its leaf or leaves; a phytomer.
Phaeton - A four-wheeled carriage (with or without a top), open, or having no side pieces, in front of the seat. It is drawn by one or two horses.
Phaeton - See Phaethon.
Phaeton - A handsome American butterfly (Euphydryas, / Melitaea, Phaeton). The upper side of the wings is black, with orange-red spots and marginal crescents, and several rows of cream-colored spots; -- called also Baltimore.
Phlogiston - The hypothetical principle of fire, or inflammability, regarded by Stahl as a chemical element.
Piston - A sliding piece which either is moved by, or moves against, fluid pressure. It usually consists of a short cylinder fitting within a cylindrical vessel along which it moves, back and forth. It is used in steam engines to receive motion from the steam, and in pumps to transmit motion to a fluid; also for other purposes.
Pneumoskeleton - A chitinous structure which supports the gill in some invertebrates.
Polyptoton - A figure by which a word is repeated in different forms, cases, numbers, genders, etc., as in Tennyson's line, -- "My own heart's heart, and ownest own, farewell."
Polysyndeton - A figure by which the conjunction is often repeated, as in the sentence, "We have ships and men and money and stores." Opposed to asyndeton.
Ponton - See Pontoon.
Poupeton - A puppet, or little baby.
Protiston - One of the Protista.
Raton - A small rat.
Sabbaton - A round-toed, armed covering for the feet, worn during a part of the sixteenth century in both military and civil dress.
Santon - A Turkish saint; a kind of dervish, regarded by the people as a saint: also, a hermit.
Scleroskeleton - That part of the skeleton which is developed in tendons, ligaments, and aponeuroses.
Seton - A few silk threads or horsehairs, or a strip of linen or the like, introduced beneath the skin by a knife or needle, so as to form an issue; also, the issue so formed.
Sexton - An under officer of a church, whose business is to take care of the church building and the vessels, vestments, etc., belonging to the church, to attend on the officiating clergyman, and to perform other duties pertaining to the church, such as to dig graves, ring the bell, etc.
Shecklaton - A kind of gilt leather. See Checklaton.
Simpleton - A person of weak intellect; a silly person.
Singleton - In certain games at cards, as whist, a single card of any suit held at the deal by a player; as, to lead a singleton.
Skeleton - The bony and cartilaginous framework which supports the soft parts of a vertebrate animal.
Skeleton - The more or less firm or hardened framework of an invertebrate animal.
Skeleton - A very thin or lean person.
Skeleton - The framework of anything; the principal parts that support the rest, but without the appendages.
Skeleton - The heads and outline of a literary production, especially of a sermon.
Skeleton - Consisting of, or resembling, a skeleton; consisting merely of the framework or outlines; having only certain leading features of anything; as, a skeleton sermon; a skeleton crystal.
Skimmerton - See Skimmington.
Skimmington - A word employed in the phrase, To ride Skimmington; that is to ride on a horse with a woman, but behind her, facing backward, carrying a distaff, and accompanied by a procession of jeering neighbors making mock music; a cavalcade in ridicule of a henpecked man. The custom was in vogue in parts of England.
Splanchno-skeleton - That part of the skeleton connected with the sense organs and the viscera.
Teston - A tester; a sixpence.
Tetragrammaton - The mystic number four, which was often symbolized to represent the Deity, whose name was expressed by four letters among some ancient nations; as, the Hebrew JeHoVaH, Greek qeo`s, Latin deus, etc.
Tetraspaston - A machine in which four pulleys act together.
Teuton - One of an ancient German tribe; later, a name applied to any member of the Germanic race in Europe; now used to designate a German, Dutchman, Scandinavian, etc., in distinction from a Celt or one of a Latin race.
Teuton - A member of the Teutonic branch of the Indo-European, or Aryan, family.
Trispaston - A machine with three pulleys which act together for raising great weights.
Triton - A fabled sea demigod, the son of Neptune and Amphitrite, and the trumpeter of Neptune. He is represented by poets and painters as having the upper part of his body like that of a man, and the lower part like that of a fish. He often has a trumpet made of a shell.
Triton - Any one of many species of marine gastropods belonging to Triton and allied genera, having a stout spiral shell, often handsomely colored and ornamented with prominent varices. Some of the species are among the largest of all gastropods. Called also trumpet shell, and sea trumpet.
Triton - Any one of numerous species of aquatic salamanders. The common European species are Hemisalamandra cristata, Molge palmata, and M. alpestris, a red-bellied species common in Switzerland. The most common species of the United States is Diemyctylus viridescens. See Illust. under Salamander.
Unbutton - To loose the buttons of; to unfasten.
Vireton - An arrow or bolt for a crossbow having feathers or brass placed at an angle with the shaft to make it spin in flying.
Wanton - Untrained; undisciplined; unrestrained; hence, loose; free; luxuriant; roving; sportive.
Wanton - Wandering from moral rectitude; perverse; dissolute.
Wanton - Specifically: Deviating from the rules of chastity; lewd; lustful; lascivious; libidinous; lecherous.
Wanton - Reckless; heedless; as, wanton mischief.
Wanton - A roving, frolicsome thing; a trifler; -- used rarely as a term of endearment.
Wanton - One brought up without restraint; a pampered pet.
Wanton - A lewd person; a lascivious man or woman.
Wanton - To rove and ramble without restraint, rule, or limit; to revel; to play loosely; to frolic.
Wanton - To sport in lewdness; to play the wanton; to play lasciviously.
Wanton - To cause to become wanton; also, to waste in wantonness.
