Dakshinamurthi Stotram
Dakshinamurthi Stotram
In praise of Lord Shiva in the form of the Divine Teacher, where He is depicted as a young man, facing the South.
The hallmarks of this aspect of Shiva are:
1) Chin-Mudra - the energy seal/gesture of his right hand where the nail of the index finger is touching the first joint of the thumb and the last three fingers are extended; and
2) the fact that all the teaching is done in absolute silence - so often, words become an obstacle to communication instead of facilitating it .
( The Chin Mudra, sometimes called Gnyana Mudra,is supposed to enhance concentration, help your pranic energies flow effectively and help you tap into the universal consciousness).
