After losing his belongings including his passport, he is taken by a Tamil couple Badri (Sriman) and Amloo (Anu Hasan), who hire him as a cook for their eatery. Based on an idea of their Friend Ivan, the couple asks Ramji to marry Damayanthi (Geetu) an Australian citizen so that he can become a citizen too. The rest of the storyline is all about Ramji's plight, his dilemma and how he overcomes them.
